Hormones and Aging
Growing old; there are a lot of people that seem to be afraid of this. It has to be a psychological thing, because growing old is just a natural process that everyone is going to experience whether we like it or not. The only difference is that we can do it gracefully or do it grudgingly. That''s the individual''s choice. However, for those who are taking it grudgingly, there may be options open which may help.
First, let''s talk about women and their aging processes. Women seem to take aging a little rougher than men. Part of this is a psychological thing and menopause has something to do with it. What is the menopause transition? Menopause is described as a state of considerable variability in ovarian hormone secretion, which is part of the reproductive aging process in women. This has an effect on women psychologically and physically. Depression can be experienced along with hot flashes and sometimes even eating disorders. Estrogen, or the lack of it, can contribute to these factors.
Can a human growth hormone slow down the aging process? There is a possibility that this hormone can increase muscle mass and reduce wrinkles. Many processes are being tried to slow the aging process. A supplement known as (dehydroepiandrosterone) is an adrenal hormone that is the precursor for steroid hormones. Anti-aging hormones are chemical signals that are produced and can do no more than slow the aging process in life. The natural process of the decline of hormones in middle life is still unclear.
So take life in stride. Don''t worry and be happy. Stay that way and growing can be a pleasurable experience.
